BBC News: New oil and gas field consent was unlawful - judge

A court has ruled that consent for the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields was granted unlawfully and their owners must seek fresh approval from the UK government before drilling can begin.

The written judgement came after a case brought by environmental campaigners, Uplift and Greenpeace, at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

Dozens of prized heritage properties have sustained “devastating” damage from Storm Eowyn, the National Trust for Scotland has confirmed, as a fundraising appeal was launched to support emergency work.
