Communities must continue to have a ‘veto’ and the final say when it comes to planning approval for energy projects.

The party will lead a debate on the issue at Holyrood, amid what they say are growing concerns that local people are being “routinely ignored” when it comes to their concerns over the “industrialisation” of the countryside.

Sky News: The wonder material which could hold the key to near-limitless energy

A rare-earth barium copper oxide (REBCO) is now being used by an Oxfordshire-based company for its superconducting properties in the hope it will make nuclear fusion a practical reality.

reNews: Axpo signs UK solar offtake

Axpo has signed a route-to-market power purchase agreement (PPA) with British Solar Renewables (BSR) to buy energy from its 25MW solar project in the UK.

The 10-year PPA is the first between the power supplier and the power generator that has been closed to date.

Circular: New pEPR scheme administrator PackUK announced

The scheme administrator for the UK’s extended producer responsibility scheme for packaging, PackUK, has been announced ahead of the administrators formal launch on 21 January.
