BBC: Grangemouth closure 'not comparable' to British Steel, MPs told

The closure of Grangemouth oil refinery in Scotland is "not comparable" to the situation at British Steel in Scunthorpe, MPs have been told. Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said an emergency law aimed at saving the Lincolnshire site from closure was an "exceptional situation". SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn challenged Reynolds over similarities to the closure of the Scottish refinery on the Firth of Forth - with the loss of 400 jobs. It came during a rare Saturday sitting of parliament to pass legislation to save the British Steel plant.

STV: Scotland’s largest rooftop solar panel installation facing delays

Scotland’s largest rooftop solar panel installation on Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall has faced delays. Workers are currently in the process of adding 1,000 photovoltaic panels to Kelvin Hall in the west end. There are hopes the job at the public building will be finished in May after work started in January.
